Thacker Pass, Nevada is the second largest lithium resource in the world and the largest in the United States. After approval from the Bureau of Land Management in January, 2021, there is now a land defense organized by people there to protect the land.

The Land Defense at Thacker Pass has undoubtedly grown since a month ago. Mining would cause environmental impacts to the Golden Eagles, Coyotes, Bighorn Sheep, and JackRabbits. The mine, which will be an open pit mine, will be 5,000 acres.
